Moonrise Kingdom

Just watched a movie called 'Moonrise Kingdom' yesterday, which was also the eve of National Day. Initially, i wanted to get tickets for either Total Recall, Bourne Legacy or maybe Brave, but sadly they were all sold out by the time i got there :/ Well, technically speaking, tickets for Total Recall wasn't sold out--the movie has started by the time i got there. MEH. I wanted to watch an action-pack science fiction film, especially Bourne Legacy since it just came out yesterday, but mehh fat hopes. It's the EVE OF A PUBLIC HOLIDAY AND THE QUEUE WAS SUPER LONG T.T I queued for prolly 20minutes just for a movie ticket. Usually it would take less than five minutes :/ The woman (i wanted to use the term 'lady', but feel very 不爽 that she kept on staring at me so nah, shall use a more generalised term since lady is more of a compliment for being feminine and ladylike. So much for that.) in front of me in the queue kept staring at me. I still can't figure out why.
Yeps so Moonrise Kingdom was more of the 'not-so-popular' film there, and since it was the only one with tickets left (for the showtimes that i can make it for), i just bought a ticket for the show. Afterwhich, i headed to Macs Cafe to get a drink. I decided that since it's a public holiday tomorrow, i should give myself a little treat--an Iced Caramel Machiatto. It tasted pretty nice i guess, but didn't really help in keeping me awake in the later part of the day :b
To summarise it all up, the film is set in the 1965, on some islands in New England if i'm not wrong. Sam Shakusky, an orphan who was attending a 'Khaki Scout' Summer Camp and Suzy Bishop, whose parents are attorneys, had met a year earlier during a play and have remained penpals since. They had made a pact to run away together. Reason being, Sam was an orphan and now, was even abandoned by his foster parents. He was seen as being mentally disturbed, and was often bullied by other kids. As for Suzy, she felt as though she doesn't belong--she was always since as the girl getting into trouble in school, the troubled kid that has no friend. Basically, she feels that no one understands her.
Sam and Suzy spends several days hiking and camping together in the wilderness. Finally, they reached a secluded cove on the island and they named it Moonrise Kingdom. Their young love blossoms, but the next day, they were being found by their Scout Master and parents respectively. As expected, they were being separated and are forbidden from seeing each other again. The scouts, who were previously mean to Sam, decided that it would be their responsibility to help the young lovers run away.
Meanwhile, while their escape plan has succeeded, a storm was brewing on the island, turning its peaceful community upside down. After many twists and turns, Sam and Suzy eventually are apprehended on a
church steeple during the hurricane (which i later found out that it evoked the earlier references to Noah, in the play where Sam and Suzy met for the very first time).
Sharp (the sheriff on the island) later on became Sam's legal guardian, saving him from the Juvenile Camp and allowing him to remain on the same island as Suzy. The last scene took place at Suzy's house, with Sam painting a picture of Moonrise Kingdom, and sneaking out of the house through the window as Suzy's mum called her down for dinner. (It was also when her mum was calling her to come down for dinner that they realised she had ran away)
Hehe not the genre of movie i would usually watch but yeah (: I guess it was good ^^
Of course, there's moral behind the whole storyline, will blog about that again soon!
